Our speaker’s presentation will be a mixture of his work with a lot of stories about the images. How they were made and why they were made. He basically covered mostly spot news with a mixture of other images.

Questions are welcome during and after the presentation.

Our speaker is a longtime Boston News Photographer. He grew up in Revere and began chasing the red and blue lights at a young age. He was Attorney General Edward Brooke’s campaign photographer in 1966 when he won the US Senate Seat replacing Leverett Saltonstall, who retired. Shortly after the campaign he began his dream job as a news photographer for the Boston Record America where he spent 16.5 years, winning two Pulitzer Prizes for spot news and shares an award with the staff for feature photography for their coverage of the Blizzard of 78.

In 1983 he went to WCVB-TV where he spent 39 years covering all the news that was worth covering all over New England. Since retiring almost 5 years ago, he has become a stringer for all the different media. In Late November he will have worked in news photography for over 60 years.
