"Photograph What You Feel"
by Don Toothaker- MA
Monday, September 30, 7:30 PM

Our last presentation of the month will not only be a teaching program but also inspirational in nature. It will help you reawake those emotions in you that made you love to take pictures to begin with. Our speaker states- As photographers we are story tellers and our most successful images are those that invoke an emotional response from our audience. But, first, we must invoke emotion in ourselves to stimulate the creative process. Following sound fundamentals and good technique are essential to your photography, but the most important element to your photography is ‘you’. Camera’s, lenses, software, and accessories are only as good as you are. Through text, images, and discussion Don will offer insight and suggestions on how to focus your photography on yourself and self expression more than technology. He welcomes your interaction and questions

Our speaker is primarily a self taught photographer, who has been photographing a variety of subjects for the past twenty-five years. His main interest is in travel photography. A co-founder of New England Photo Workshops in 2009, he is committed to exploring and sharing the beauty of New England through teaching and imagery and with his partner he runs multiple tours and workshops every year throughout New England. He has judged locally on the club level and interclub council level and has lectured throughout the Northeast. Don uses Nikon cameras and lenses as well as a variety of lighting sources. He has been an accomplished member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club since 2000 and a published photographer in various national and international magazines. A member of the Photographic Society of America, he will be a conference presenter with his partner, Bob Ring and through his company he will be running pre and post conference tours for the attendees to the upcoming PSA Conference in Portland, Maine. A juried Member of Nikon Professional Services, he resides in Bradford.
