This presentation provides an opportunity to expand or refresh your skills on the how, when and where to find Florida wildlife in their natural habitat. Share Jay’s experience in finding and capturing wildlife photographically or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of nature, which the many various locations offer. The presentation is for all levels of photographers and people who already do or might enjoy viewing in the future what Southeast Florida wildlife has to offer along with tips needed on how to find them and photograph them.

As a youth in Kansas City, Missouri our speaker spent much of his time hiking in the woods, fishing, and hunting with his grandfather and uncle. They instilled in him the need to respect all living things, while understanding the world around him will always be changing. This background led him to a lifelong appreciation of nature, scenery, architecture and people.

Jay started with film cameras and dark rooms, eventually moving to digital cameras and computerized post processing. When he retired after a 45 year career in Information Technology, it allowed him to focus on photography and other areas of enjoyment. He states- ‘traveling the world in the Army, then for business and pleasure, has broadened this Midwesterner- New Englanders appreciation of nature, along with the many cultures and history that exist with it. My current life style allows me to pursue a love of nature, photography and sharing my weekly excursion knowledge’.

Jay is a member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club where he was past program chair. He now spends a portion of each winter in Florida.
